Why my content is not ranking on Google?

Why is my content not ranking on Google?

Are you new to the market and want to know how to rank on Google? Have you worked hard for many years, but Google still does not support ranking your website at the top of the search results? You feel everything is good on my website, but it’s still not ranked.

It’s not a big issue. If you have questions, you’re on the right track because you’ve been thinking, and your mind is working.

If we sit down and do nothing, our minds stop working after some time, and we do not think big.

If you are doing something, your mind asks many questions. So, it is a good thing; it means you are progressing and growing.

If we work on projects, websites, or anything, we put in all our efforts and think we are all done with the required work. But still, our website and business are not growing.

But if we don’t get results, we always need to learn something because we don’t know about it.

Today, I share 22 mistakes why your content is not ranking on Google:

Top 22 mistakes Why is my content not ranking on Google?

1. Poor Website User Experience (UI/UX)

The first thing our eyes notice is the design. What they see and how they look.

The website design is the first thing that users notice. It needs to be clean, fast, and easy to navigate.

Solution: Focus on website design and structure. Consider using a minimal and straightforward design and reducing the use of CSS and Java to optimize your site. Tools like Google Page Speed Insights can also help you evaluate and improve your website’s user experience.

Tool: Google Page Speed Insight is the best platform for evaluating your website’s user experience and helping you improve it.

2. Font Size and Font Family

Another thing to notice is font size and family.

Overly large or inconsistent fonts can make your site look unprofessional and hard to read.

Solutions: First, focus on the font family you will use to represent your business. Then, focus on font size. Font size plays an essential part in the website’s overall look. Try to minimize the size of the fonts.

Tip: Most font sizes are used for people between 16 and 25.

3. Wrong Keywords Targeting

If we make our website, we have no idea how to target the right keywords.

Targeting too many unrelated keywords dilutes your content focus, making it harder for Google to understand your intent.

Solution: Before starting, do some deep research on your website. It will allow you to avoid the biggest mistakes from the start.

Do some market analysis, determine your website’s goal and target audience, and do some competitive analysis, and then start.

4. No Long-Term Goal

Publishing content without a clear long-term strategy confuses you and your audience.

We made our website, worked on it for months, and did not know what goal to reach.

Solution: Before writing for your website, make a clear plan. Explain why people will visit your website and what they will get.

Always remember: People will come when they need something.

5. Share no valuable content.

Publishing random content without value won’t attract or retain visitors.

Solution: Before publishing the content, review it and read it. If you love your content while reading, that means your content is meaningful, so post it.

If your content does not inspire you, others will not.

Make yourself inspirational so that people will start loving you.

Focus on solving problems that your audience cares about.

6. No backlink

Backlinks from low-quality or irrelevant sites can hurt your SEO.

Solution: Prioritize building genuine, relevant backlinks.

Generate at least 10 to 20 quality backlinks for every article.

Tip: Search for or tell ChatGPT to list websites that allow profile or link submissions, like Quora.

7. Publish without optimization

Publishing without optimizing your content (title, meta, images, links) limits its ranking potential.

Solution: Focus on

  • SEO title
  • Meta description
  • Internal and external links
  • Image optimization

8. AI-Generated Content

Relying solely on AI for content creation can lead to generic, low-quality posts.

It gives you limited access, and Google will not focus on your website to rank due to the lack of AI content.

Solution: AI is integral to our lives, and we cannot avoid it. However, we can implement strategies.

Add your unique voice and perspective.

Take ideas from AI, but write your content to stimulate your mind’s thinking. Google prefers human content rather than AI content.

9. Copy Others

Duplicating others’ work harms your credibility and SEO.

Solution: Do not copy others. Instead, take ideas from them and write in your style. Create original, insightful content.

10. Not sharing in-depth knowledge.

Shallow content won’t rank. Google favors well-researched, detailed content that answers users’ questions thoroughly.

Solution: Conduct thorough research, gather insights, and investigate the topic. The more valuable and in-depth your content is, the more likely Google is to recognize it as authoritative and rank it higher.

Give something to take something.

11. Strong competition

While your voice matters, ignoring trends and competitor strategies will leave you behind.

Solution: Combining research with originality is key. Writing in your style is great, but relying on it alone isn’t always strategic. Study what’s working for others, analyze successful competitors, and then apply those insights in your unique voice.

12. Not optimized page URL

Using unoptimized URLs weakens SEO. Include your primary keyword.

Solution: Focus on optimizing your URLs. Keep them short, clean, and keyword-rich. Identify the primary keywords you want to rank and use them strategically in your permalinks to improve SEO performance.

13. No image optimization

Do not focus on images. How do you add pictures and optimize them?

Solution: But take image optimization seriously, too. Image optimization is also an essential factor.

  • Convert JPG and PNG images into WEBP.
  • Add Alt in images

14. New site – too early

Giving up too soon is a common mistake. Work on the website for a few days and give up.

Solutions: But let me tell you one thing. Google will not rank new websites easily. Give at least 6 to 1 year for your website.

Consistency is key.

So do not rush things. Be passionate and be consistent. Everything takes time.

15. No, start with a strong hook.

A weak hook instantly loses readers. If your content does not start with a good introduction line, people will feel bored at the start and leave.

Solution: Writing a strong hook is a game-changer.

  • Ask Questions
  • Give reasons
  • Start something interesting
  • Start from the story to keep them reading
  • Start with a bold statement

Example:

Before: Tired of posting on social media and getting zero results?

After: What if every post brought in leads, sales, and real growth?

16. Do not end with a good CTA

No call to action means missed opportunities. You may write great content with strong strategies and ideas, but your audience may miss the core offer and get distracted from your main message if you don’t end with a clear call to action.

Solution: End with a strong question or call to action.

  • To make leads
  • To invite you to follow
  • Free offers and so many.

17. Ignoring Technical errors

Ignoring technical SEO (like broken links, slow speed, etc.) will stop your site from ranking.

Solution: If your website faces any technical issues. Try to solve it first.

18. Ignoring Local SEO

Skipping local SEO means missing out on nearby traffic.

Solution: Google gives us many options to rank on Google. We need to follow all the steps and not ignore them.

Optimize your site for local searches and set up a Google Business Profile.

19. Ignoring People Queries

Not answering common user questions loses traffic.

Solution: Use and write content on those topics, likely asking client-related queries. Quora and Reddit are the best tools where people ask the most questions.

20. Mixing too many topics at once

Covering too many issues at once confuses your content focus.

Solution: Research and start writing on one topic that is easy for you to write about and is mostly trending.

Choose one niche and build topic clusters around it.

For Example, in an architecture firm, people mostly search for interior design in their area. So, write about interior design and then cover all those subcategories called cluster keywords.

21. Ignoring Brand Building

Ignore brand building and go with irrelevance.

Solution: In 2025, people will mostly follow brands because they trust them easily and believe them to be true.

People follow brands they trust. Build a consistent voice, style, and message to stand out and earn loyalty.

So, start to build branding first.

22. No indexing

You do not index pages, and you think my website is not ranking easily.

Solution: Google gives you the option to index and, at some point, Google crawls your website.

Tip: In the Google Search Console, Google gives the best option to apply for indexing. In a few days, Google will crawl your website, and that way, your website will start ranking.
